Ben Askren Calls on His Followers to Read Ron Paul’s “End the Fed”

Although Ron Paul retired from public office in 2013, the former Texas congressman’s sound money message lives on.
His two presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012 and constant advocacy for free-market money during his time in office (1976-1977, 1979-1985, and 1997-2013) helped normalize the concept of ending the Federal Reserve among much of the public.
Fast forward to the present. Former professional mixed martial artist and amateur wrestler Ben Askren recently urged his followers to read Paul’s book “End the Fed.” In a tweet he published on July 15, 2022, Askren said “Everyone should read ‘End the Fed’ by Ron Paul!”

Paul’s End the Fed was published in 2009. In the book, he made the case that the Fed is an unconstitutional entity that undermines freedom, facilitates inflation, and helps create the infamous boom and bust cycle in the economy. These reasons, among others, justify the abolition of the Fed in Paul’s view.
Askren, who amassed a 19-2 record in professional MMA, was a champion in the Bellator and ONE Championship fight promotions. He fought 3 times in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he finished his career in 2019.
Since retiring, Askren has been involved in cryptocurrency investing and has supported free-market currency alternatives to fiat money. Askren is part of a new generation of public figures who question long-held dogmas about economics. As time goes on, more individuals from all professional backgrounds will pick up on the value of cryptocurrencies and other competing monies. Inflation is not going away anytime soon, which will have more people lose faith in the present monetary system.
When it’s all said and done, Ron Paul will go down as the most forward thinking political figure of the past century due to his constant warnings about the Fed.
