Republican Senators Say They Will Halt Military Funding Until Vax Mandate is Lifted

Senate Republicans recently threatened to block the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act unless a vote is taken on the current Wuhan virus mandate for military personnel.

Florida Senator Rick Scott and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul are leading this effort, with 11 other senators, including Utah Senator Mike Lee and Texas Senator Ted Cruz, joining them.

Scott said to Fox News “I think on the NDAA one thing that’s going to be important is that we don’t give cloture unless they agree that we’re not going to keep kicking people out of the service for their – if they’re unvaccinated,” continuing “I think that we’ve got to start standing up for people.”

The Senators sent a letter to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, where they stated “The Department of Defense COVID-19 vaccine mandate has ruined the livelihoods of men and women who have honorably served our country.”

“While the Department of Defense certainly must make decisions that will bolster military readiness, the effects of the mandate are antithetical to readiness of our force, and the policy must be revoked,” the letter added.

During a press conference, Paul declared “The vaccination mandate has forced our nation’s young patriotic men and women to choose between their faith, their medical autonomy and their careers.”

“At a time when the military is struggling to meet targets for recruitment, the administration is firing soldiers we invested in and trained,” the Kentucky Senator continued.

The NDAA is passed by Congress on an annual basis. As Steve Watson of Summit News observed, this legislation covers military spending, which includes “the annual pay raise and new program starts.”

Watson noted that the Biden regime is still pushing for dishonorable discharges and even going as far as to court martial troops who don’t follow orders to receive shots.

The biosecurity state that has been established in the US must face pushback from elected officials. It’s not enough to pen op-eds criticizing these horrific policies.

As servants of their constituents, politicians must carry out their will and oppose policies that harm them. Rand Paul is one of the few leaders in DC who is willing to make the hard call and stand up to the unelected bureaucratic tyrants who lord over us.
