Marjorie Taylor Greene Introduces Legislation to Audit American Taxpayer Handouts to Ukraine

George Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has plans of introducing a bill that would audit tens of billions of dollars of taxpayer-funded aid that the United States has doled out to Ukraine. Since Russia’s military incursion into Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the US and its allies in the West have sent billions of dollars in military and economic aid to Ukraine to help in its fight against Russia.

“It’s going to force Congress to give the American people an audit,” Greene said to Tucker Carlson during an interview on the night of February 23, 2023. “And that is exactly what the American people need, an audit of Ukraine, because we have no idea where all this money’s going.”

She introduced a resolution of inquiry in the House on February 24, which is a way for Congress members to formally call for the executive branch to provide them information, per The Hill.

“I’m introducing this resolution, and I’m looking forward to seeing my Republican colleagues support it,” Greene stated. The Georgia Congressman justified the move on the grounds that it would prevent further escalation in Ukraine.

She declared that the Biden regime is “so disconnected with what the American people want that they are literally going to lead us into World War III.”

“There’s not bipartisan support among the American people for fighting a war in Ukraine that does nothing for Americans except force them to pay for it,” Greene added.

Greene’s legislation comes at a time when GOP voters are becoming increasingly frustrated with the Biden regime’s efforts to continue a proxy war against Russia in Russia — a geopolitical venture that could go nuclear should the US miscalculate on this occasion. BLP previously reported on this growing disenchantment among the GOP base with regards to the conflict in Ukraine.

There are still obvious challenges to seeing any change in Ukraine policy in DC. For one, the GOP’s leadership still remains very hawkish, as hawkish if not more than the average Democrat on the issue. It’s going to take non-stop pressure and shaming of America Last Republicans to get them to stop supplying aid to Ukraine. With the House under Republican control, there’s a possibility of creating gridlock on future aid supplies to Ukraine.

Now, it’s just a matter of Republicans coalescing around Greene’s efforts to make this scenario a reality.
