Alabama Congressman Mike Rogers Teams Up with Thomas Massie to Introduce Legislation to Leave the United Nations

Will the United States eventually leave the United Nations? 

Alabama Congressman Mike Rogers has joined forces with Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie to introduce legislation that would have the US exit the United Nations. As Alex Nitzberg of The Blaze observed, Massie is an original co-sponsor of this bill. 

The bill in question, the American Sovereignty Restoration Act (H.R. 7806) would have the US leave the UN and similar international entities. 

“The President shall terminate all membership by the United States in the United Nations, and in any organ, specialized agency, commission, or other formally affiliated body of the United Nations,” the bill’s text outlined. “Except as otherwise provided, this Act and the amendments made by this Act shall take effect on the date that is two years after the date of the enactment of this Act.”

“Effective on the date of the enactment of this Act, the United States will end any participation in any conventions and agreements with the United Nations and any organ, specialized agency, commission, or other formally affiliated body of the United Nations. Any remaining functions of such conventions and agreements shall not be carried out,” the bill also detailed.

“The United Nations has repeatedly proven itself to be an utterly useless organization,” Rogers declared in a statement.

“The UN’s founding charter states the UN’s mission ‘to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small.’ However, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet has proven herself to be nothing more than a puppet for the Chinese Communist Party – aiding the CCP in playing down the very real and horrifying genocide being carried out against Uyghur’s. It’s unconscionable that China continues to sit on the UN Human Rights Council even as it carries out this disturbing genocide on top of its numerous and daily violations of basic human rights. It’s clear the UN has abandoned the ideals set in its founding charter and that’s why, among many other reasons, I’ve reintroduced legislation to withdraw the United States from the UN,” the lawmaker remarked.

“This legislation would also withdraw the United States from the corrupt World Health Organization. The WHO lost all credibility when they chose to put public health second to the Chinese Communist Party by helping the CCP cover up the origins of COVID-19,” Rogers concluded.

The UN Charter was signed 76 years ago, as part of the new international order that the victors of World War II (China, France, Soviet Union, United Kingdom, and United States) wanted to establish. 

Not only is the UN useless, it’s corrupt and is notorious for giving the most despotic individuals across the globe a platform to promote the wackiest ideas. While it has not gotten its way, its very presence is tempting for any post-national, multiculturalist in the US to use as a cudgel against the Historic American Nation. 

For the sake of maintaining its national character and freedoms, the US desperately needs to socially distance itself from the UN and similar globalist entities.
