City University of New York Union President Claims “White Christian Nationalism” is Contributing to Growing Anti-Semitism on Campus

At a New York City Council meeting dealing with anti-Semitism on the campus of City University of New York (CUNY), Professor James Davis blamed “White Christian nationalism” for this development.
According to Abigail Streetman of Campus Reform, this Council meeting came about after several incidents of alleged anti-Semitism took place on the CUNY campus. She cited one case of “a resolution passed in Dec. 2021 by the CUNY Law Student Government Association demanding that the university ‘cut all ties’ with Israel and endorse the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.”
Kalman Yeger, a member of the New York City Council and an Orthodox Jew, responded to Davis’ comments by saying that he is “a New Yorker” and he does not view “white nationalism” as a major problem in New York City CUNY campuses.”
In addition, Yeger claimed that if Davis believes white nationalism is such a big problem, he should “take another look at those campuses.”
“That’s not what’s happening here,” he claimed.
According to Streetman, there have been multiple cases of anti-Semitism taking place on CUNY campuses throughout 2022 that have largely been perpetrated by non-whites.
She cited the following examples:
In May, for example, anti-Israel activist Nerdeen Kiswani was invited to the CUNY School of Law to deliver a commencement speech, in which she voiced support for the anti-Israel BDS resolution passed in December.
Similarly, the Anti-Zionist Jewish Coalition at CUNY published a letter in August claiming that Israel “commits genocide,” “funds Nazi militia groups,” and is a “settler colonial regime.”
While criticism of Israel does not constitute anti-Semitism per se, it is fascinating to see this kind of tension take place in university campuses. That’s what happens when a polity embraces diversity. You invariably get migrants or people of certain extractions getting into ethno-religious beefs with other hostile groups, while everyday Americans watch in horror.
The fact remains that whites in America are not responsible for the numerous forms of ethnic squabbles taking place in the country.
All in all, the US needs to not only halt migration from abroad but also not entangle itself in global hotspots such as the Middle East to avoid blowback at home. Invade the world, invite the world is a policy prescription for all sorts of instability.
