James Madison is The Latest Victim of the Woke Purges

Far-Left philanthropist David Rubinstein is funding an effort to change the history of James Madison’s house.

Madison, the author of the United States Constitution, is the latest target of the wokes.

Madison had quite the resume as author of The Federalist Papers and the Bill of Rights, in addition to serving two terms (1809-1817) as president.

These accomplishments that Madison was able to accumulate have quickly become an afterthought for the woke crowd who are now more fixated with Madison’s ownership of slaves and present racial conflicts.

Thanks to a $10 million grant from Rubinstein, tourists will now have to look at exhibits that detail the racial and slavery aspects of Madison’ life. 

“I was kind of thinking we’d be hearing more about the Constitution,” one father told The New York Post after recently visiting the former president’s home. “But everything here is really about slavery.”

“It’s been inspirational … I guess,” the individual said.

According to a tour guide, Madison’s house “made Madison the philosopher, farmer, statesman, and enslaver that he was.”

Mary Kay Linge and Jon Levine of The New York Post noted that 

“Outdoors and in the house’s huge basement, dozens of interactive stations seek to draw a direct line between slavery, the Constitution, and the problems of African Americans today.”

“A one hour Critical Race Theory experience disguised as a tour,” observed Mike Lapolla, a tourist from Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

Linge and Levine noted how another exhibit “damns every one of the nation’s first 18 presidents — even those, like John Adams and Abraham Lincoln, who never owned slaves — for having benefited from slavery in some way.”

Virginia Congressman Bob Good described the revisionist take on Madison’s life as “a deliberate attack on those founding institutions.”

“The left is trying to revise our history and is perpetuating a dishonest narrative,” Good added.

The cultural leftist indoctrination is expected to pick up in the next few months after a heated board battle at the Montpelier Foundation. This foundation administers Madison’s estate. 

Back in May, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, which owns Madison’s home, compelled the board to bring on several left-wing activist members for the sake of promoting “racial equity.”

The new members want to turn Montpelier into “a black history and black rights organization that could care less about James Madison and his legacy,” board member Mary Alexander said to the Orange County Review.

“There were hundreds of thousands of slave owners,” Alexander stated. “But not hundreds of thousands who wrote the Constitution.”

The current rewrite of Madison’s life is one of the latest attacks the multicultural Left is launching against the Historic American Nation. 

These people are playing for keeps. Ultimately, they want to destroy American history in the name of fighting “racism” and “white supremacy.” The destruction, erasure, and replacement of artifacts of American history are acts of multicultural conquerors who want to fundamentally transform America into a post-national polity bereft of any meaningful identity and respect for traditional values. 

Unlike their weak-kneed counterparts on the establishment Right, Right-wing populists must stand firmly against attempts to destroy American history. It’s the least we can do during this time of civilizational crisis.
