The European Union’s Population is Plummeting

The European Union’s population has fallen for the second consecutive year per figures from Eurostat.

According to Anna Fleck of Statista, the EU’s population had been increasing on an annual basis prior to the outbreak of the Wuhan virus pandemic. The EU reached a pre-pandemic peak of 447,485,231 people on January 1, 2020. In 2021, that number fell down to 447,000,548 in the EU.  At the start of 2022, the EU’s population plummeted to 446,828,803 by the start of this year.

The Wuhan virus has played a role in this population decline, though there are larger structural factors that have contributed to this decrease.

As Tyler Durden of ZeroHedge reported,”The EU has an aging population, with one in five people over the age of 65.”

According to Eurostat’s Demography of Europe 2022 report, live births in Europe fell from 10.2 live births per 1,000 in 2001 to 9.1 in 2020.

For the time being, this decline in births was offset by mass migration from the Middle East and Africa to Europe. Though migration was temporarily halted throughout the pandemic because of the travel prohibitions that governments implemented at the time.

Due to population and economic pressures in Africa and the Middle East and EU elites’ fetish for mass migration, the EU could be in for a major demographic transformation of its constituent member states.

If native European birth rates continue to fall below replacement levels and non-European migration is not halted, Europe could be on the fast track to civilizational disappearance.

Forward-thinking European lawmakers will need to devise natalist policies to repopulate their countries. On top of that, they will need to clamp down on immigration to protect domestic workers and preserve the national identity of this unique civilization.
