Former Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski Congratulates the US for Sabotaging Nord Stream

On September 26, 2022, three leeks were discovered at the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines within a few hours of each other. The first of the leaks was found at Nord Stream 2 close to the Danish island of Bornholm. Subsequently, two leaks were discovered at Nord Stream 1.

This incident raised suspicions about the pipelines actually being sabotaged.

Upon hearing about this incident, Radoslaw Sikorski, a member of the European Parliament and a former Polish foreign minister, apparently congratulated the US for damaging the Nord Stream pipeline.

“A small thing, but so much joy,” he posted on Twitter on September 26, 2022 but then deleted. The tweet featured a photo of the accident site and the hashtag #Nordstream.

“Thank you, USA,” he said in a subsequent tweet, with the same picture.

To back up his statement, Sikorski alluded to United States President Joe Biden’s statement on February 7, where he proclaimed his desire to capsize Nord Stream if Russian military forces invaded Ukraine. Sikorski is one of the most hawkish anti-Russia figures on the world stage. He teamed up with former US ambassador Michael McFaul in a debate against international relations professors John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt to make the case for providing military aid to Ukraine in its fight to stave off Russia’s military incursion in the country.

Sikorksi believes that damage to the Nord Stream pipelines has hamstrung Russia’s geoconomic maneuvers. For one, if Russia wants to get its gas supplies to Europe back on line, it must talk to the countries who control the Druzhba and Yamal gas pipelines.

According to TASS, the Danish energy agency reported on a significant amount of gas leaking into the sea. Aircraft and sea vessels were instructed to maintain, at a minimum, five nautical miles distance from the site of these leaks. Swedish seismologists later confirmed that two explosions took place along the pipeline routes on September 26.

It’s anyone’s guess who was responsible for this act of sabotage. If this writer were a gambling man, good money should be placed on some American Deep State actor being responsible for this. Biden, himself, is not in charge of things. Moreover, his administration is filled with fanatic anti-Russia hawks such as national security adviser Jake Sullivan and Victoria Nuland.

Given how presidents are practically figureheads these days, the anti-Russia crowd in the Deep States were likely the ones who pulled off these sabotage acts.
