Former AG Bill Barr Believes that Donald Trump is Not the Right Republican Candidate for 2024

While everyone’s attention is focused on the FBI’s raid of former President Donald Trump’s home, and rightfully so, a former official in Trump’s administration has poured cold water on the prospects of his run in 2024.

Former United States Attorney Bill Barr believes that Trump is not the right candidate to receive the nomination in 2024.

During an interview with CBS News on August 5, 2022, Barr stated Trump is “obviously bent on revenge more than anything else.”

“I think the future is bright for the Republican Party. I view 2024 as setting up another 1980 where when [Ronald] Reagan won two terms and then [George H.W.] Bush won a third term. And that’s what I think you really need to make America great again, you know, decisive victory and the reaction to the excesses of the progressive Democrats,” Barr proclaimed.

“And I think we could do that again and really achieve a decisive victory with the right candidate, but I don’t think Trump is that candidate. The day he’s elected he’ll be a 78-year-old lame duck who is obviously bent on revenge more than anything else.”

Despite going through an FBI investigation, it’s likely that such a move will confer martyr status to Trump. He is immensely popular among the Republican base. For example, in a straw poll for the 2024 elections taken at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Dallas, Texas this past weekend, Trump picked up 69% of the vote among conference attendees.

So far, Trump has not officially announced a presidential run in 2024.

As a report by Press TV noted, “Barr drew the ire of Trump after he said in an interview with NBC News that the former president became enraged when he told him that there was no evidence of widespread voter fraud.”

Trump was furious about Barr’s lackadaisical efforts to combat voter fraud  and accused him of not pulling his weight when it came to addressing rampant voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election — an electoral affair rife with irregularities and fraud.

Trump described Barr as “ineffective” and “weak” for his failure to take the fraud issue head on.

“Former Attorney General Bill Barr wouldn’t know voter fraud if it was staring him in the face – and it was,” Trump declared in a statement back in March. “The fact is, he was weak, ineffective, and totally scared of being impeached, which the Democrats were constantly threatening to do. They ‘broke’ him.”

Moreover, Barr did nothing to clamp down on radical leftist groups such as Antifa and Black Lives Matter, which were causing havoc nationwide. There are terrorist organizations that merited a firm response from the Justice Department. Ultimately, Barr did nothing.

Now, Barr is just further validating why America First cannot trust him so whatsoever. Trump’s time in office offered many learning experiences and hopefully he understands the importance of vetting for the right people to bring on his staff. The biggest enemies to the nationalist causes are those coming from within.
