Spanish Court Demands that Mike Pompeo Testify About CIA Plot to Assassinate Julian Assange

A Spanish court has summoned former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to testify on whether the CIA had plans to assassinate WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
This news comes at a time when Assange is rotting in London’s Belmarsh prison as he waits for a decision from United Kingdom Home Secretary Priti Patel to be extradited to the US.
Pompeo served as Director of the CIA from 2017 to 2018. According to a shocking Yahoo News report that was released in 2021, the CIA had plans to kidnap or assassinate Assange, after the DC Swamp threw a fit at WikiLeaks’ public divulgation of several documents exposing the agency’s covert hacking tools better known as Vault 7.
The Yahoo report, which was originally published on September 26, 2021, featured a quote from a former Trump national security official who described Pompeo and other leading intel officials as being “completely detached from reality because they were so embarrassed about Vault 7 … they were seeing blood.”
According to an ABC Spain report, the summoning comes following the Assange legal team’s filings connected to his ongoing proceedings with the UK government. ABC noted the following:
According to legal sources consulted by ABC, Pompeo has been summoned this June, although he may appear by videoconference. The same resolution agrees to call William Evanina, a former key US counterintelligence official who reportedly made statements supporting that theory. Pedraz has made this decision after the prosecutor Carlos Bautista reported in favor of the petition filed by the lawyer Aitor Martínez who, together with Baltasar Garzón, defends Assange.
The Spanish report added, “Separately, Spain’s National Court has been probing a Spanish security firm that may have spied on Assange for the CIA while providing security for the Ecuadorean Embassy in London.”
“National High Court Judge Santiago Pedraz agreed to summon Pompeo and former U.S. counterintelligence official William Evanina as witnesses to explain whether a plot was drawn up,” the report continued.
Tyler Durden of ZeroHedge observed that “Pompeo has yet to issue comment on the ruling or whether he plans to appear, which isn’t likely, given current or former top US intelligence officials do not subject themselves to legal examinations on classified intelligence matters.”
Durden provided a bone-chilling account of what Assange had to put up with as he was staying in the Ecuadorian embassy in London:
While Assange was previously holed up at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, his supporters and legal team say the CIA and possibly other Western intelligence agencies worked with a private security firm to bug the embassy, and provide 24/7 surveillance of its perimeter. This even included extreme efforts to collect DNA samples, including off the dirty diaper of his and Stela Morris’ infant son.
What Assange is going through is a travesty of justice and a blatant assault against independent journalism.
The irony here is that Wikileaks’ info dumps came in clutch for former President Donald Trump during the 2016 elections, as Wikileaks made failed presidential candidate Hilary Clinton look as corrupt as possible.
Unfortunately, Trump did not pay Assange back for his journalistic service. Part of the reason why Trump likely did not follow through with this is due to the fact that he allowed neocon parasites like Mike Pompeo embed themselves in his administration and undermine it from within.
Should Trump get elected in 2024, he needs to completely blacklist neocons like Pompeo and allow for pro-restraint officials like Douglas Macgregor enter his administration to correct course and not only realize a restrained foreign policy, but also allow for heroic figures like Assange to continue their journalistic work without legal consequences.
