POLL: Voters Still Believe Crime and Inflation are the Most Important Issues for the 2022 Midterms

Despite the corporate media obsessing over Donald Trump and conflicts in far-flung areas such as Ukraine, voters continue to view inflation and violent crime as the main issues heading into the 2022 midterms.

According to a Rasmussen poll, 85% of likely American voters are somewhat concerned about inflation, which includes 57% who are very concerned. 

In a similar vein, 86% of voters are somewhat concerned about violent crime, which includes 61% who are very concerned.

As for wedge issues like abortion, 70% of voters are somewhat concerned about abortion, which includes 50% who are very concerned. 

67% of Democrats are very concerned about abortion, whereas only 38% of Republicans and 45% of independent voters are concerned about it. 

By contrast, majorities of voters across the political spectrum – 73% of Republicans, 50% of Democrats, and 62% of independent voters – are very concerned about violent crime.

75% of likely voters are at least somewhat worried about preventing electoral fraud, which includes 60% who are very concerned. 69% are concerned about illegal immigration, which includes 50% who are very concerned. 

As for race issues, black voters are more likely to be very concerned about preventing electoral fraud (65%) or violent crime (61%) than about either abortion rights (43%). Whites tend to be more concerned about abortion rights than blacks or other non-white minorities.

Republicans should take note here. The three issues of crime, inflation, and immigration should be front and center of political campaigns in 2022 and beyond. That means they should be offering the solutions of bringing back law & order nationwide, weakening the Fed’s influence by promoting alternative currencies, and promoting wholesale immigration restriction. 

If they fail to do any of this, Republicans will underperform in 2022 and future elections this decade.
