POLL: The Majority of Americans Believe Illegal Aliens Should be Sent to Sanctuary Cities

Per a new poll that Scott Rasmussen and RMG Research Inc recently released, the majority of Americans believe illegal aliens should be sent to sanctuary cities.
This poll comes in the wake of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ decision to send 50 migrants last week to Martha’s Vineyard. The island markets itself as a sanctuary for illegal aliens. The corporate media obviously threw a fit over DeSantis’s move, which actually has strong support among the American public.
Among registered voters, 51% are in favor of sending migrants to sanctuary cities, 29% are against it ,and 21% are unsure, per the poll’s findings. An additional 48% strongly or somewhat approve of border state governors sending some illegal aliens to several places such as Chicago, Martha’s Vineyard, and New York. Only 38% strongly or somewhat disapprove of such a move.
“This polling confirms what all Americans know to be true: the open-borders policies of the Biden Administration are wildly unpopular,” America First Legal vice president and general counsel Gene Hamilton said to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “It also confirms that the American people desire immigration enforcement at our border that is at least as effective as what the elites in Martha’s Vineyard have — where illegal aliens are promptly deported within 24 hours of their arrival.”
Most respondents believe people residing in places like Martha’s Vineyard were engaging in acts of hypocrisy. 63% believed it was hypocritical for sanctuary cities to whine and moan about illegal aliens being sent there. 61% of likely voters believe cartels exercise more control over the southern border than the US government. An additional 60% believe the government’s failure to secure the southern border is a much bigger problem than border states sending migrants to locations such as Martha’s Vineyard.
In addition, this poll revealed that President Joe Biden has a 41% approval rating.
The biggest proponents of mass migration must be forced to assume the consequences of the open borders policies they espouse. When border towns and states are taking a beating, the very least sanctuary cities and states can do is to share the burden of housing these migrants.
In the long-term, border states should start assuming immigration functions that the federal government would normally carry out. It’s abundantly clear that the federal government won’t do its job and protect the country‘s sovereignty.
In turn, the states will have to pick up the slack in this scenario.
