2 Alabama Schools Will Remove Confederate Namesakes

On November 10, 2022, the Montgomery County Board voted 5-2 to rename Robert E Lee High School and Jefferson Davis High School, per a WSFA report.

The former will soon be renamed to Dr. Percy Julian High School and the other will be renamed JAG High School, which is an acronym for civil rights leaders Judge Frank Johnson, the Reverend Ralph Abernathy and the Reverend Robert Graetz. According to an Axios report, this move came two years following the school board’s decision to remove the Confederate names.

Curiously, the schools have undergone significant demographics since the 1950s and 1960s. For example, in that period, those schools were predominantly white. Currently, 85% of students are black, according to an AP report.

Since the death of George Floyd in the summer of 2020, the cultural Left has taken advantage of this hysteria to go on an iconoclastic binge against American history. Currently, Confederates are easy targets for the Left due to how the Confederacy was made up of slave-holding states.

The next targets will be the Founding Fathers, who largely held slaves and had controversial opinions on racial issues. Regardless of what people believe about the Founders’ views, their greatness and contributions to our nation cannot be denied. For the Left, that’s too much.

Hence, their campaign to destroy American history. The Right must be willing to stand up to these radicals and hold the line against their efforts to destroy our cherished history. Once America’s history is wiped out, the cultural Left will be able to impose their political will with virtual impunity.
