Irish Politician Puts the American Deep State on Blast

Mick Wallace, an Irish member of the European Parliament (MEP), believes the European Union’s sanctions against Russia advance the United States’ interests.

On February 23, 2023, Wallace stated that anti-Russia sanctions positively benefit the US at Europe’s expense.

Wallace is of the view that the US never desired European countries buying Russian gas, which is cheaper, so they could sell their own fracking gas at quadruple the price of Russian gas.

The Irish MEP claimed that what European businesses have to put up with is “madness.”

“The US didn’t want Europe buying gas from the Russians in the first place that for the last couple of years they tried to block the Nord Stream project. We’re now buying filthy LNG gas, fracked gas from the Americans and at a much greater price. The industry in Germany is having to pay four times more for American LNG than the American industry pays back in America,” Wallace stated.

“So how is European business going to compete with American business if we’re paying four times more for their LNG than the American companies? It’s just absolute madness,” he continued.

Wallace has called on EU authorities to take an independent path with regards to Russian oil and gas. The Irish MEP’s comments come at a time when the EU has slavishly followed the US in imposing sanctions against Russia.

The MEP stressed how the Russo-Ukrainian conflict has put upward pressure on energy prices, thereby raising living costs in Europe.

“It’s been a very disappointing year for the European Union.. We’re making decisions that are good for America, good for NATO, but not good for the people of Europe. The sanctions have had a dramatic impact on the cost of living for the ordinary people of Europe. We’ve seen huge inflation. We’ve seen huge price rises. And the sanctions, in the last 12 months, I would say they’ve had more of an impact on the people of Europe than they had on Russia,” he stressed.

Many experts argued that the Collective West’s proxy war against Russia has made the US one of the big winners of this crisis.

The skyrocketing European demand for US gas turned the US into the world’s largest LNG exporter in the first half of 2022, with volumes increasing by 12% from the second half of 2021, per analysis by the US Energy Information Administration.

During the first 10 months of 2022, over 60% of US LNG exports were sent to EU countries, turning the EU into the largest importer of US LNG exports.

On top of that, US arms sales have gone through the roof as many EU and NATO countries have been boosting defense spending in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Indeed, the US political class has benefited tremendously from this conflict. The American people on the other hand, not so much.

At the end of the day, geopolitical ventures tend to benefit a narrow elite at the expense of the everyday people.
